FISCO seniors attended a great informational session from AARP volunteer Philip Abharam that how senior community is easy target for scammers. He emphazied on various topics as how to be cautious of unexpected calls, messages, or emails asking for personal or financial information—always verify the source through official channels.

Never share sensitive data like passwords or bank details unless you’re absolutely sure it’s safe. Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication to protect your accounts.

Regularly check your financial statements for any unusual activity. When making payments, use secure methods like credit cards or bank transfers, and double-check details before sending money. Don’t let anyone rush you into acting quickly—scammers often create pressure to trick you.

Avoid clicking suspicious links and report any strange or scammy activity to the proper authorities as soon as possible. Session ended with question and answers with gratitute in hearts.
