On March 26th 2005, Christine Russo, represented OurHealth, recently presented findings from their study on the health and genetic information of South Asians residing in the United States, with a focus on improving the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease risk within this population.
Despite South Asians constituting 23% of the global population, they face a significantly higher risk—twice that of Europeans—when it comes to cardiovascular disease. Unfortunately, this group remains notably underrepresented in genetic research and studies, making this initiative critical for addressing these health disparities.
Christine has conducted presentations at the Shrewsbury COA and Westford COA, with upcoming sessions scheduled for the Burlington COA. For more information or to participate in the study, interested individuals can contact the study team at 617‑724‑1240 or via email at ourhealthstudy@mgb.org.
