Work to be done in person for 50 % of the time, remotely rest of the time.
Our Mission
The Friends of Indian Senior Citizen’s Organization (FISCO) is a 501© 3 social work agency supporting Asian Indian senior citizens residing in towns in the northwestern part of the Boston Metro Region. The organization has four main programs with the mission to reduce isolation among seniors. Their programs and activities consist of frequent social interactions and gatherings, education for the maintenance of good mental and physical health, a signature hot meal for seniors served at the Burlington, Shrewsbury and Westford Senior Centers and lastly, education, information and resource sharing.
Position Requirements:
Responsible for leading the agency in a manner that supports and guides the agency’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board monthly and providing timely and accurate information necessary for the Board to function and make informed decisions.
Financial Performance and Viability: Develop grants and resources to ensure the financial growth and health of the organization.
Manage website with regular updates and work with a part-time web manager.
Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the agency. Includes - submission of a proposed annual budget to the Board, work with support from an outside accountant, and the create a monthly financial statement.
Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position. Supervise the work of volunteer program coordinators at three or more centers and work with the board on the weekly food for senior’s programs.
Responsible for oversight of all fundraising activities and pursuing other resources necessary to support the agency’s mission with the help of a very active board.
We seek a person who is able to take direction and work well with the Board's senior members. The ability to speak an Indian language, familiarity with Asian culture, and prior work with a non-profit social work agency is a plus.
