
On August 13th, members of FISCO gathered at the Cameron Senior Center to celebrate India Day in honor of India’s 79th year of Independence. The event brought together around 44 enthusiastic senior citizens, who came together to pay tribute to India's rich heritage and its journey to independence.
The celebration began with a warm welcome and introduction by Ram Bhatt, setting the tone for a vibrant and patriotic afternoon. The American national anthem was beautifully sung by Sahana Ventakraman marking a respectful start and acknowledging the multicultural spirit of the gathering. Seniors members paid respect to the Indian Flag by singing Indian National Anthel together followed by performances by Vidhya Bhide, Ranjan, Rohit Shah and Ram Bhatt with their singing talent.
One of the highlights of the event was a mesmerizing Carnatic music performance by talented young artists Maheedhar Athreya and Sahana Venkatraman. Their soulful vocal and instrumental presentation captivated the audience, bringing a deep sense of pride and cultural connection.
Throughout the program, members immersed themselves in the patriotic spirit of the occasion which was followed by delicious lunch.
The India Day celebration was a heartwarming and meaningful tribute to the motherland, filled with cultural pride and community spirit .
