FISCO Celebrates Holi at Cameron Center – March 19, 2025

On March 19, 2025, FISCO (Friends of Indian Senior Citizens Organization) hosted a lively and colorful Holi celebration at the Cameron Senior Center. The event marked the arrival of spring and celebrated Holi, a festival that symbolizes the victory of good over evil and the end of winter. It was an afternoon filled with joy, culture, and a strong sense of community attended by 82 senior guests.

The event began with a warm welcome speech by Rakshit Mazumdar, who greeted attendees with festive Holi wishes and set an uplifting tone. He also shared FISCO’s vision and mission emphasizing the importance of community engagement and collaboration to strengthen connections within the organization.

Following the welcome, members were informed about membership benefits, program offerings, and volunteer opportunities at FISCO, encouraging participation and involvement in future activities.

The cultural program was a major highlight, showcasing the incredible talent of FISCO members and volunteers. Performances included:

Bhajans and soulful songs by Anuradha Nott and Jayshree Raganathan
Bollywood Songs by Rakshit Mazumdar and Ram Santhanam
Poetry by Sumit Maheshwari
A theatrical performance by Haresh Punjabi
A fun Bollywood group dance led by Riya, with Indu, Pavitra, Sheetal, and Akshata.

After the performances, guests enjoyed a delicious hot lunch sponsored by Sai Canteen Groton and sweet cupcakes by Zest and Leisure Westford, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The event’s success was largely due to the dedicated efforts of volunteers: Jyoti Verma, Rupa Shah, Shubham Jain, Vidhi Dalia, Nidhi Gupta, Riya Bagkar, Sandhya, Manisha Kamerkar and Aayana Gupta.

The day concluded with a heartfelt thank you note from Mita Patel, FISCO’s President, who expressed appreciation for everyone’s participation in making the event a success with partnership of AgeSpan, Cameron Senior Center and Westford CAT for covering the event.

Overall, FISCO’s Holi celebration was a wonderful reflection of community, culture, and the joy of coming together. It was a memorable event that left attendees excited for the next celebration.
